Heavy Fabrication

Service Engineers Ltd's heavy fabrication shop is well regarded throughout the industry for its history of complex and challenging projects that have been successfully undertaken from design stage through to site installation and commissioning.  The sheer size of the structures and the diverse range of heavy components that have been manufactured is awe-inspiring and includes examples of the following:

  • Bulk materials handling equipment including conveyors, elevators and screws.
  • Building Structures, Trusses and Bridge beams. (to NZS 3404)
  • Special purpose machinery and process plant, eg. coal hoppers
  • Moulds, Form work, tools, jigs and fixtures
  • Cranes, including Gantry, Jib and Goliath (to AS/NZ 1418, BS/NZ 2573)
  • Forestry plant and cable haulers
  • Bulk storage tanks for the Petro-Chemical and process industries
  • Tunnel linings.

Specialties include plate rolling, forming and press brake work, beam manufacture, procedural welding - including flux cored, MIG, TIG, arc and submerged arc.  Welding can be carried out to any code but typically: AS/NZ 1554, ASME IX, BS EN ISO 15614-1.
